Non Combatant Evacuation Operations (NEO)
Identified as a real need among the SOF community. Currently, to evacuate a non combatant, a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) is typically deployed from a nuclear submarine and driven across open sea to the beach. By being exposed, the RIB risks being detected during such operations. The Hyper-Sub eliminates this problem by having the ability to approach completely submerged, waiting submerged at the shallowest point closest to the beach and then surfacing only for the few moments required for the actual evacuation.
